Macintosh Users
Note: If your computer does not have some version of System 8 installed, this wallpaper may NOT work on your computer.

These instructions work for the following browsers:

System 8.0 & 8.1
System 8.5 or Higher


System 8.0 & 8.1
dot1. Click on the dimensions you would like for image you want to save.
This will launch a new browser window.
dot2. Click on the new browser window and choose "Save As..." under the file menu in the toolbar. Select the directory where you want to save the image (Netscape users: choose "Source" for "Format:" in the pull down menu of the dialog box) and click "Save."
dot3. Open the "Desktop Pictures" or "Desktop Patterns" control panel. This can be found under the Apple menu in the upper left-hand corner of your toolbar under the heading "Control Panels."
dot4. In the "Desktop Pictures" or "Desktop Patterns" control panel, click on the small "Picture" icon on the left. Click "Select Picture..." and go to where you downloaded the "pic" picture file. (If you do not see "Select Picture..." then click "Remove Picture" first). On the bottom, select the scroll bar that reads "Position Automatically" and change it to "Center on Screen." Click on "Set Desktop" and take a look at your new desktop!

If you cannot find the image file you downloaded, just double-click your hard drive icon and locate your "command" key, which has a picture of an apple on it. Hit the "command" and "f" keys together and type in "pic"

If you have problems and would like more instructions, click on your desktop and go to "Help" under the "Help" menu in the toolbar. Then click on the "Look For" button and type in "desktop pictures" and click "Search." Then select "How do I change the desktop background."

OS 8.5 or Higher
dot1. Click on the dimensions you would like for image you want to save. This will launch a new browser window.
dot2. Click on the new browser window and choose "Save As..." under the file menu in the toolbar. Select the directory where you want to save the image (Netscape users: choose "Source" for "Format:" in the pull down menu of the dialog box) and click "Save."
dot3. Open the "Appearance" control panel. This can be found under the Apple menu in the upper left-hand corner of your toolbar, under the heading "Control Panels."
dot4. In the "Appearance" control panel, click on the "Desktop" tab and then the "Place Picture" button and navigate to where you downloaded the "pic" image file. (If you do not see "Select Picture..." then click "Remove Picture" first). On the bottom, select the scroll bar that reads "Position Automatically" and change it to "Center on Screen." Click on "Set Desktop" and take a look at your new desktop!

If you cannot find the image file you downloaded, just double-click your hard drive icon and locate your "command" key, which has a picture of an apple on it. Hit the "command" and "f" keys together and type in "pic"

Note: If you have problems and would like more instructions, click on your desktop and go to "Mac OS Help" under the "Help" menu in the toolbar. Then type in "appearance control panel" and click on "changing the way your computer looks."
