Andersen, a teacher from Tucson, found Manny in an orphanage there. He arranged to have Manny brought to the United States for life-saving medical treatment. Join them as they meet with Sister Kathleen Mary McCarthy at St. Mary's Hospital to discuss the possibility of rehabilitation in the hospital's burn unit.

Crossing Survivor 7.18.2001 Two brothers tried to make it through the desert on their journey to America on July 11. For one, it would be the last trip of his life. Jorge Alonso Mireles died despite desert water stations placed by Humane Borders. The Border Patrol says the water stations create false hope and should be removed. Humane Borders officials say the stations save lives and must stay. Watch this video for a first-hand account of the fatal journey from Fidel, the surviving brother, in a U.S. border patrol interview.
