The 15th annual Tucson Celtic Festival and Scottish Highland Games was held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 2 - 3, at Rillito Park Raceway. The games included athletic events, bands, dancing, singing, arts and crafts, traditional food, demonstrations and booths representing family clans and history.

Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, is a 3,000-year-old tradition honoring the dead. In Tucson, activities were scheduled around town and included a Day of the Dead Arts & Crafts Festival at Reid Park.

Tucson Meet Yourself is a festival for Tucsonans to sample the foods of the city's diverse ethnic and national groups as well as enjoy some entertainment and do some people watching.

The 31st annual Juneteenth festival was held at Kennedy Park on Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16. The event attracted well-known performers such as blues singer Henry "Mojo" Thompson, pictured at left, hip-hop group Bad Azz and gospel singer Nyssa Shenay. On March 24, 2001, a renovated Civil War-era stagecoach pulled by mules left Springfield, Missouri to recreate the Butterfield Overland Stagecoach route. Headed by coach owner Rick Hamby and Tombstone resident Pete Kline, this crew completed the first cross-country stagecoach journey attempted in more than 100 years. It was not an easy task, but two months and 2,000 miles later, the team arrived in Tombstone, Arizona on May 26 to a crowd of cheering supporters.
