This searchable database, created from financial data as released by United
Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona at the request of the Arizona Daily
Star, shows which organizations received United Way money that largely
originated in Southern Arizona. The amounts listed are for the year that ended June 30, 2000.
Type in the full or partial name of an
organization to see a list of amounts received from United Way. A "Y" means
the organization is out of the area that includes Pima, Cochise and Santa
Cruz counties. An "N" means the organization is not outside the area. Look
under "service area" to see what kind of service the organization performs.
Hint: If you don't know the name of a charity but still want to peruse the database, try typing in a keyword such as "child," "family" or "homeless." This will return a list of organizations.
