TEACHING TUCSON'S CHILDREN PARENT PLEDGE
As the most important influence in my child's educational success, I pledge to:
Prepare my child each morning for a successful school day.
Provide my child the necessary encouragement, supervision and tools to complete homework assignments and school projects.
Observe a daily reading time of at least 20 minutes.
Give at least 20 hours of my time this school year to activities that support my child's school.
Participate in parent/teacher conferences, school events and activities.
Resolve any problems with the school and its staff in a productive way.
Set an example for my child by being a lifelong learner myself.
We'll send your family a bumper sticker if you are one of the first 500 to take the pledge.

I am concerned about the future of Tucson's children and will take the 2001-2002 Community Pledge. I pledge to:
Learn more about the education issues that affect our country and community.
Contact the school of my choice to find out how my skills and talents can be used.
Give at least 20 hours of my time to education-related activities during this school year.
Encourage my employer and co-workers to become (or stay) involved in efforts to improve education.
Participate in parent/teacher conferences, school events and activities.
Encourage my civic group, professional association or church to help improve the quality of education in Southern Arizona.

We recognize the need to maintain an educated, qualified workforce, and
acknowledge our concern for the quality of community life in Southern
Arizona. We will take the 2001-2002 Employer Education Pledge.
Learn about the educational issues that affect our country, community and industry.
Participate as a company, or through an employee group, in at least one education-related activity in this school year.
Work with our employees to assure that they are able to participate in their child's education.
Create a long-term workplan to address parent worklife issues.
