Palo Verde defensive back Hall already on USC's radarArizona daily Star

Here are a dozen high school seniors who are considered college football prospects:
• Adam Hall, FS, Palo Verde: At 6 feet 4 inches and 195 pounds, Hall is a lockdown defender and the cream of Southern Arizona's senior class. He is a four-star national recruit, and this summer was offered a scholarship by USC.
• Jake Fischer, LB, Ironwood Ridge: "The prototype run-stopper," according to his coach, has received offers from the UA, Colorado and Utah.
• Scott Brown, RB, Sabino: He broke onto the scene last year with 700 rushing yards in a run-by-committee offense. With his size (6-1, 205), it's possible he could double his production out of the backfield.
• JJ Holliday, WR, Santa Rita: No receiver in the area has the sure hands and play-making ability of Holliday. His receiving yardage last year (1,251) was nearly 500 yards more than anyone else in Southern Arizona, and he led the area with 17 TD catches.
• Marcus Klune, OL, Ironwood Ridge: The 6-4, 260 tackle prospect is considering Colorado State, UNLV and NAU.
• Kyle Walker, OL, Sabino: The Sabercats were able to go 10-0 in the regular season last year in large part because of his blocking prowess up front, and some colleges are now taking interest.
• Laurence Gibson, DL, Buena: He has participated in several elite camps at the UA, while Colorado and UCLA, among others, are also in pursuit.
• Ray Cottman, LB, Ironwood Ridge: This pass defender is also a top offensive player. "Wyoming, UTEP, Idaho and UNLV have shown a lot of interest. I'm hoping any one of them could offer," Cottman said in an e-mail.
• Seth Mejias-Brean, QB, Cienega: His competitive nature, dedication and focus have made him one of the best all-around athletes in Southern Arizona — and one of the best students, with a 4.0 GPA. He passed for 2,027 yards in 2007.
• DeAndre Penn, DL, Canyon del Oro: He is one of the best pass-rushers around and a key reason CDO's defense was so good last year, making it to the 4A-I state title game.
• Andy Garcia, RB, Nogales: The diminutive tailback has wheels and craftiness — and a history of success (12.2 yards per carry last year). He has a chance to catch on at a small college.
• Josh Carter, OL, Mountain View: Probably the best OL in town, Carter is big (6-5, 290) and is being recruited by several Division I colleges.
