Catalina's sister-brother duo ready for stateArizona Daily Star
Tucson, Arizona | Published: 04.25.2008
High school tennis in Southern Arizona has been dominated in this decade by an endless string of championship siblings.
The McGeorges. The Leikems. The Sufis. The Bravos.
Now Catalina's Anabela Yescas and her younger brother, Gaston, are primed to join the trend.
Anabela is unbeaten this year (a combined 28-0 in singles and doubles) and last week won the 4A Gila Region singles title. She is the No. 2 seed in the Class 4A-II individual state tournament, which begins today at Tucson Racquet & Fitness Club.
Gaston finished second at regionals and is unseeded in the 4A-II boys draw.
The Star talked to both this week to learn their similarities and differences, and asked the burning question: Which sibling is the better player?
