BASEL, Switzerland — Roger Federer beat Fernando Gonzalez 6-3, 6-2, 7-6 (3) Sunday to win his fourth straight title and 11th of the year at the Swiss Indoors.
Federer overpowered the defending champion, hitting 14 aces and breaking Gonzalez's serve three times.
Federer won his 24th straight match, his longest streak of the year.
● In Linz, Austria, Maria Sharapova won her fifth title of the season Sunday, beating Nadia Petrova 7-5, 6-2 in the Generali Ladies final and advancing to No. 2 in the rankings.
● In Lyon, France, Richard Gasquet won his third title of the season Sunday, beating Marc Gicquel 6-3, 6-1 in an all-French final at the Lyon Grand Prix.

Jamaica police make arrest in Berbick case
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the killing of former heavyweight champion Trevor Berbick, who was bludgeoned and left to die in a church courtyard next to his family's home in a rural hamlet.
Several residents of the remote farming community in Norwich district said the suspect was involved in a land dispute with the troubled boxer.
Police refused to identify the man before his arraignment, which has not been scheduled.
Police have not disclosed a possible motive or if others were suspected in the slaying of Berbick, who is best remembered as Muhammad Ali's final opponent in 1981.

Two Aztecs earn honors
Two Pima College volleyball players were named to all-conference and all-region teams by the league's coaches.
Sophomore Vicki Hogan was named to the All-ACCAC team and to the NJCAA Division II Region I second team. Freshman Katy Marsh was named all-conference honorable mention.

U.S. women tie Denmark
GIMHAE, South Korea — Kristine Lilly scored on a left-footed shot in the 72nd minute to give the U.S. women's soccer team a 1-1 tie with Denmark on Sunday in the Peace Queen Cup.
The United States is using the eight-nation tournament as a warm-up for regional World Cup qualifiers next month in California.
● The UA men's soccer club team won the Southwest Conference title with a 6-0 win over New Mexico on Sunday at Murphey Stadium.
Chris Evans scored three goals for the Wildcats (11-0-2).
The UA will be a top seed at the national tournament that starts Nov. 16 in Tempe.
