Another Arizona Wildcats women's basketball recruit said Tuesday she will attend the university, even though coach Joan Bonvicini was fired Monday.
Malia Nahinu, a 6-foot-5-inch forward from Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward, Calif., said she will honor her letter of intent and attend Arizona because she likes the university.
Another recruit who has signed a letter of intent, Courtney Clements, has not decided where to go, according to her coach, Lorene Morgan of Millikan High School in Long Beach, Calif.
Two other members of the incoming freshman class, Jhakia McDonald of Anaheim, Calif., and Amani Butler of Ontario, Calif., said Monday they will attend Arizona.
Arizona will select a search firm by the end of the week. Arizona senior associate AD Rocky LaRose, who will chair the search committee, said the university prefers a candidate with head coaching experience with at least three years of "on-the-court experience."
