TIMONIUM, Md. — Ben Crenshaw found his long-lost golf game, shooting a 4-under 66 to take a one-stroke lead over Fred Funk in the Senior Players Championship.
Crenshaw — at 7-under 133 — hasn't won a tournament since the Masters for a second time in 1995. That also was the last time he led after 36 holes.
Funk shot a 68. Gene Jones (66) and Tom Jenkins (68) were 5 under.
PGA Tour
SAN ANTONIO — Chris Stroud moved into position to make a big jump on the PGA Tour money list by shooting a 6-under 64 Friday to take a two-stroke lead after the second round of the Texas Open.
Stroud, 209th on the money list, had a 10-under 130 total on the La Cantera Golf Club's Resort Course. Former Wildcat Rory Sabbatini (66) topped a group at 7 under.
LPGA Tour
DANVILLE, Calif. — In-Kyung Kim shot a 3-under 69 to take a one-stroke lead over Mollie Fankhauser in the Longs Drugs Challenge, while top-ranked Lorena Ochoa was two shots behind.
Kim, 20, had an 8-under 136 total on the Blackhawk Country Club course. Fankhauser and Ochoa both carded 68s.
European Tour
MADRID, Spain — Overcoming illness and a sore shoulder, Charl Schwartzel shot a 7-under 64 for a share of the Madrid Masters lead with Marcus Fraser (66). They were at 9-under 133.
Chip shots
● Seve Ballesteros was moved out of intensive care Friday but remained hospitalized in Madrid, Spain, four days after being admitted because of a dizzy spell. Ballesteros, 51, was in stable condition. He will have more tests to determine what made him lose consciousness on Monday.
● The U.S. team was fourth after the third round of the Espirito Santo women's amateur golf tournament in Adelaide, Australia, on Friday. Ex-Wildcat Alison Walshe shot a 4-under 69, while Tiffany Joh and Amanda Blumenherst each shot a 73. The team finished at 2-over 438, 16 shots behind leader Sweden. Caroline Hedwall (73), Anna Nordqvist (74) and Pernilla Lindberg (76) led Sweden.
● Former Arizona Wildcat Ricky Barnes was at 7-under 137 after two rounds of the WNB Classic on the Nationwide Tour. Barnes trails leader Marc Leishman by four strokes. Three others with ties to Tucson — Willie Wood, Ryan Hietala and Rich Barcelo — were at even-par 144. Chris Nallen missed the cut after consecutive rounds of 76.
