MADISON, Ill. — Ron Hornaday raced to his fourth NASCAR Craftsman Truck victory of the season and record 37th overall, holding off Dennis Setzer by 0.646 of a second Saturday in the Camping World 200.
Hornaday, the defending series champion driving the No. 2 Chevrolet for Kevin Harvick Inc., led 113 of the 160 laps on the 1.25-mile Gateway International oval.
Johnny Benson, the series leader and also a four-time winner this year, was third, followed by Todd Bodine, Jack Sprague, Erik Darnell, Mike Skinner, Rick Crawford, Colin Braun and Ted Musgrave.
Hornaday, an 11-year veteran on the truck circuit, won for the first time at Gateway in six starts. He started second and led the opening 21 laps.
Hamilton wins pole at 'Ferrari' course
SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium — McLaren's championship leader, Lewis Hamilton, clinched pole position for today's Belgian Grand Prix ahead of his main challenger, Felipe Massa, on a track that was supposed to favor the Ferrari car.
Hamilton's McLaren teammate, Heikki Kovalainen, took third on the grid, with Ferrari driver and world champ Kimi Raikkonen finishing fourth.
Hamilton set a time of 1 minute 47.338 seconds on Saturday in the qualifying session at the 4.352-mile Spa-Francorchamps circuit, beating Massa by 0.340 seconds.
It was a sizable margin on a circuit where the Ferrari car has traditionally done well. Massa, who trails Hamilton 70-64 in the world point standings, could not figure what went wrong.
"Sometimes you do a great lap and you still miss something," Massa said. "I need to understand why."
If Raikkonen is to challenge for the title over the last six of 18 races, he will have to start piling on the points here. He has not won a race since April.
