New faces could find time soonArizona Daily Star

Look past McKale Center toward Arizona Stadium. We have four freshmen you can get excited about as the UA football team opens training camp three weeks from Saturday.
A handful of new faces are poised to see playing time right away. None, as far as we know, have threatened to take their skills to Europe. All have passed their SATs and figure to contribute to a program looking for its first bowl berth since 1998. Here are four freshmen — enrolled freshmen — to watch as camp nears:
Matt Scott
17, Corona, Calif. (Centennial High School)
Quarterback
• Scott racked up more than 3,500 total yards as a high school senior, 1,099 of them coming on the ground.
Off-the-charts The 6-foot-3-inch, 205-pound Scott just might be the most complete quarterback to ever set foot on campus. If he stays healthy, The Great Scott can become a household name.
Decent Scott gives the Wildcats an element at quarterback — speed — that they have not had since Keith Smith scrambled his way to success in the late-1990s. Do not be surprised if Scott plays in short-yardage or goal-line situations. Willie Tuitama will get most of the snaps, but Scott will see the field. Trust us.
Robert Golden
17, Fresno, Calif. (Edison High School)
Cornerback
• Rangy and athletic, Golden might already be as talented as any cornerback on the Wildcats' roster.
High Golden is engaging and outgoing and possesses one of the great names in program history. How long before we start seeing "Golden Boy" headlines?
Guaranteed Do not be surprised if the 5-foot-11-inch, 190-pound Golden is in the starting lineup when the Wildcats open their season Aug. 30.
Solomon Koehler
18, Kaneohe, Hawaii (Castle High School)
Defensive tackle
• Koehler (pronounced KOH-ler) was Hawaii's top recruit and, at 6 feet 3 inches and 305 pounds, he provides some much-needed size.
Moderate While someone named Solomon Kupapalani Koehler will always be cool, defensive tackles do not get a lot of glory.
Good Koehler will need to lose weight and develop some endurance to be a factor as a freshman, but his size and skill might be too much for coaches to ignore. Arizona does not have many options at defensive tackle.
Keola Antolin
18, Las Vegas (Bishop Gorman High School)
Running back
• The 5-foot-8-inch, 180-pound Antolin might not look like much, but his numbers stand tall: 1,048 yards rushing and 10 TDs as a senior.
Moderate Small and exciting, Antolin is a good fit for the Air Zona offense. It is not difficult to imagine Antolin as a fan favorite, especially if he has some success as a freshman.
Depends Coaches will give Nicolas Grigsby the first crack at locking up a starting job. But if he struggles …
