Two local high school baseball stars helped lead Team Arizona to the championship of last week's Junior Sunbelt Classic in McAlester, Okla.
Catalina Foothills senior Breck Ashdown and Nogales senior Juan "Speedy" Espiricueta each pitched Arizona to victories in the 10-team tournament.
Ashdown hit a home run and had two RBIs in Arizona's final game, a 6-1 win over Tennessee in what served as the gold-medal game.
Espiricueta got Arizona off to a good start in the tourney opener, earning the win against Oklahoma Gold.
The team went 8-1 overall and won the Classic for the first time in its nine years competing in McAlester.

Raiders' Walker injured in robbery
LAS VEGAS — A police spokesman said Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker was found unconscious on a Las Vegas street after apparently being the victim of a robbery.
Police spokesman Bill Cassell said in a statement that Walker was taken to a hospital with "significant injuries" after being found early Monday on a street off the Las Vegas Strip.
Cassell says Walker remains in fair condition.
A Raiders spokesman said the team was "in the process of gathering information" and had no further comment.
● Free agent linebacker Rosevelt Colvin signed with the Texans on Monday, giving the team another pass rusher to pair with 2006 No. 1 draft pick Mario Williams.
Colvin spent five years with the Patriots and was on two Super Bowl winning teams, but was released by New England in February. He missed the last five regular season games and the playoffs with a foot injury.
● The Arizona Cardinals on Monday added Eduardo Castañeda, an outside linebacker from Mexico, to its practice squad for the 2008 season.
The move was part of the NFL's International Practice Squad Program. Castañeda, 25, is 6 feet 3 inches, 253 pounds and spent last year on the Houston Texans' practice squad and the Rhein Fire in NFL Europa.

Moya pulls out of Wimbledon
LONDON — Carlos Moya of Spain and Argentines Juan Ignacio Chela and Juan Monaco are among the first players to withdraw from Wimbledon due to injuries. The All England Club announced that Moya, who was ranked No. 1 in March 1999 but has slipped to No. 40 with recurring injuries, has an injured shoulder.
Japan's Akiko Morigami withdrew from the women's singles draw with an injured knee and was replaced by Czech player Renato Voracova.
Wimbledon begins Monday.
● Croatia's Marin Cilic upset second-seeded Paul-Henri Mathieu of France 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 on Monday in the first round of the Nottingham Open in England.
Defending champion and fourth-seeded Ivo Karlovic beat two-time former champ Jonas Bjorkman 6-3, 6-4.
● Ivan Ljubicic, the defending champion, beat Robin Haase 6-3 7-6 (5) Monday to advance to the second round of the Ordina Open in Den Bosch, Netherlands.

McEwen's sprint leads to stage win
GOSSAU, Switzerland — Robbie McEwen won a sprint finish to take the rain-soaked third stage of the Tour de Suisse on Monday.
The Australian rider edged Spain's Oscar Freire and Germany's Gerald Ciolek in the 96-mile ride from Flums to Gossau, Switzerland. They all finished with a time of 3 hours 50 minutes 5 seconds.
Spain's Igor Anton is the overall leader.
