The Arizona Wildcats are making a late effort to land one of the few available high school seniors, inviting Brea (Calif.) combo guard Kyle Fogg in for a visit Sunday.

Fogg's traveling team coach, Dinos Trigonis, said Friday that Fogg is considering whether to sign with a college or attend prep school next season. Trigonis said Fogg does not yet have a qualifying test score but should qualify by the end of the semester.

Fogg, an unranked 6-foot-3-inch, 180-pound guard, has attracted attention this spring in traveling team events. He earned MVP honors while leading Belmont Shore to the Las Vegas Easter Classic tournament last month, and shot 61.5 percent from the field last weekend in the Arizona Cactus Classic event.

"He's got a good, coachable personality," Trigonis said. "He can really score and really shoot it. He can handle the ball and be a backup point if he needs to."

The UA likely will need a backup point guard if Nic Wise transfers. The Wildcats have two open scholarships for next season, and more if Chase Budinger stays in the NBA draft or there are other losses. Wise has said he is uncertain if he will return, and Mark Adams, the traveling team coach of incoming UA freshman Emmanuel Negedu, said Friday he has fielded calls from schools believing that Negedu might become available.

Fogg has already visited UNLV and Providence, receiving offers from those schools, as well as San Francisco, Fresno State, Hawaii, New Orleans and Oregon State. Trigonis said he is unsure if the UA has offered a scholarship to Fogg or if Fogg would commit shortly.

"It all depends on how the visits go," Trigonis said.

● The UA will pay Mike Dunlap $375,000, the same amount given to Kevin O'Neill last season to be the top assistant coach, according to associate AD Rocky LaRose. Dunlap will also receive a $10,000 moving allowance.

● Seattle guard Peyton Siva, a top-25 guard in the class of 2009, committed to Louisville on Friday, picking the Cardinals over the UA, Kansas and Washington. Of a February visit during Louisville's win over Georgetown, Siva told the Seattle Times "it was a great environment (at the game) and so was the campus."

● ESPN.com draft analyst Chad Ford wrote that UA wing Chase Budinger has "an eye toward staying in the draft." He quoted Budinger saying "the biggest factor for me will be whether I'm ready or not for the draft. Draft status is a big deal, but it's not a huge deal for me."
