Wildcats pick up surprise '08 addition as Calif. junior college safety signsstaff and wire reports
Tucson, Arizona | Published: 05.15.2008
The UA football team received a surprise late addition to its 2008 recruiting class Wednesday.
Safety Anthony Wilcox of Compton (Calif.) Community College signed with the Arizona Wildcats late in the afternoon, giving the program some extra depth heading into next season.
Wilcox, a 6-foot-2-inch 210-pounder, also was recruited by Louisville, Missouri, Arizona State, Cal, North Carolina and South Florida. He committed to the UA after taking an official visit to Tucson over the weekend.
"Arizona seemed like the best fit for me, man," Wilcox said. "I'm ready to help them win a championship this year."
Wilcox registered 115 tackles and had eight interceptions and two fumble recoveries during his only year at Compton. Wilcox will have three years to play three college seasons.

Dickson was a staunch defender at Flowing Wells and an All-Southern Arizona all-star during her senior season, one in which she averaged seven points per game.
