Reggie and the Full Effect, Wheatus to play at Skrappy's

We get the feeling that one-hit-wonder band Wheatus may not have been too happy when it left its former Sony-owned label, Columbia Records.

Then again, the title of the first of two 2005 albums released by the group, "Suck Fony," might have been just a clever name.

"Fony," the band's debut release on its own label, Montauk Mantis, is actually a reissue of its second Columbia release, "Hand Over Your Loved Ones" — an album the powerhouse label did little to promote.

With "Fony" now under the band's control and a second album, "TooSoonMonsoon," also on the market, the "Teenage Dirtbag" musicians seem to be back on track.

The band will play at Skrappy's Youth Center, 201 E. Broadway, with Army of Freshman at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25. Tickets are $8 through Ticketmaster, 321-1000.

Also on Skrappy's schedule is Reggie and the Full Effect, which will play at the all-ages venue Monday.

The Full Effect is on its first major headlining tour to promote its album "Songs Not to Get Married To," released in 2005 on Vagrant Records.

That show begins at 7:30 p.m., and tickets cost $11 through Ticketmaster.
