Felder scores 4 times as Catalina Foothills takes region titleArizona Daily Star
Tucson, Arizona | Published: 01.28.2006
After his team beat Sahuaro 7-0 to win the Kino Region championship on Friday, Catalina Foothills coach Charlie Kendrick said the Falcons have yet to hit their stride.
It's a scary thought for the rest of Arizona's Class 4A-I teams.
Considering their superior ball control was the key reason for the title win, it is hard to imagine Catalina Foothills (22-0) getting much better.
LeeAnn Felder, the Falcons' leading scorer, finished with four goals. She scored in the eighth and 18th minutes as Catalina Foothills took a 3-0 halftime lead.
"For some reason, she finds herself in the right spot, and when she does, she puts the ball in the back of the net," Kendrick said.
Catalina Foothills scored three goals in the last three minutes.

● Flowing Wells 3, Salpointe Catholic 0: At Salpointe, Skye Schultz found the net four minutes into the contest and Flowing Wells cruised to a region title.
Flowing Wells added to its total when Lexi Vallery found a loose ball near the net to score the final goal.
"I think we played really good," the Cabs' Viviana Zumpano said, who also scored. "Our passing was on. We just had the spirit, and we kept focused."

4A-I Sonoran
● Sabino 2, Rincon/University 0: At Rincon, Brandy Carr scored twice as the Sabercats took the 4A-I Sonoran region championship.
Freshman goalie Megan Kelly, who had a nice save on a 35-yard free kick during the game, was just moved up from the junior varsity at the end of winter break.
"It's a young team that is just amazing me," said Sabino coach Steve Jackson.
"I'm in awe of what they've done this season."
