MARANA
1 Vandalism was reported at 3 a.m. Sept. 27 in the 11500 block of West Stone Mound Drive. A resident told police someone knocked over the water fountain in her front yard. She said several lights from the neighbor's yard were placed inside the wheels of one of her vehicles.
2A disturbance was reported at 6:12 p.m. Sept. 27 at Fry's, 7870 N. Silverbell Road. Two women shoppers had a minor altercation in the produce section. The first woman said she coughed when the second woman reached around her to pick up an item. She told police the woman screamed something, flung up her arm and hit her in the head. The second woman told police the first woman stood next to her and began coughing. She asked her to cover her mouth but instead she purposely coughed in her face. She told police she did not intentionally hit the woman. The store manager told police he was unsure if they had a security camera recording the produce section. No one was cited.
3A 15-year-old girl was cited on suspicion of possession of prescription drugs at 10:55 a.m. Sept. 26 at Marana High School, 12000 W. Emigh Road. An employee told police the girl was brought to the office after another student was taken to the emergency room on Sept. 25 after taking a pill offered to her for cramps. She said the girl had a bottle containing 11 Hydrocodone pills. The girl told police she took the pills from her grandfather when he was visiting several weeks ago. The girl's mother said her father was visiting recently and did take the drug regularly for back pain. According to the report, the girl did not know the other student was taken to the hospital. She was released to her mother.
4A 2004 GMC truck valued at $25,000 was reported stolen at 5:57 a.m. Sept. 26 at Comfort Inn, 4930 W. Ina Road. A guest told police the truck was locked when he went to his room at 8 p.m. A set of golf clubs, a ski jacket, a gear bag, a checkbook and a case of harmonicas were in the truck.
PIMA COUNTY
5Theft was reported at 7:39 p.m. Oct. 2 at Quik Mart, 900 W. Roger Road. An employee told police the following: A customer asked for a pack of cigarettes and five $20 lottery tickets. He grabbed the tickets from her hand and drove away in a Honda Accord. She was unable to get the license plate number.
6An attempted motorcycle theft was reported at 11 a.m. Oct. 2 in the Mira Vista Apartments, 7596 N. Mona Lisa Road. A resident told deputies someone cut the ignition wire. He said his motorcycle had been moved to a different parking space.
7A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of underage drinking at 6:15 a.m. Oct. 2 at a business in the 3200 block of West Ina Road. An employee told deputies she saw the man on the ground in the parking lot. After deputies woke the man up, he tried to leave. He said he had been drinking the previous night and fell asleep. According to the report, he threatened deputies and spat on the back windshield of the patrol car. He was also charged on suspicion of criminal trespassing. He was booked into Pima County jail.
8Vandalism was reported at 8:55 a.m. Oct. 1 in the 1000 block of West Sahara Palms Drive. A resident told deputies the following: Someone ripped his political sign out of the ground and shoved it into his mailbox. He found "McCain-Palin" stickers on his mailbox and the bumper of his car.
ORO VALLEY
9Fraud was reported at 3:25 p.m. Sept. 25 in the 12100 block of New Dawn Avenue. A resident told police she discovered two fraudulent charges on her Citibank MasterCard to an online company for $274. She said the card has been canceled.
10 Theft was reported at 6:19 a.m. Sept. 25 at Sundown Village apartments, 8215 N. Oracle Road. A resident told police someone broke a rear passenger side window on his car. A cell phone, a stereo and an iPod were taken.
11Theft was reported at 2:42 p.m. Sept. 24 in the 2200 block of East Amaranth Street. A resident told police someone took a brass patio ornament and a rake from her backyard.
12 Two men, ages 18 and 26, were cited on suspicion of theft and released at 10:59 a.m. Sept. 22 at Home Depot, 10855 N. Oracle Road. The men were stopped by police a few minutes after a generator was reported stolen from a customer's truck in the parking lot. A generator found in the back of their truck matched the description of the one stolen. Police searched the truck and found two pair of black gloves, two Halloween masks, a backpack, several pieces of new clothing and new tools in the truck.
