SAHUARITA
1 Theft was reported at 5:48 p.m. Aug. 21 at Fry's, 15950 S. Rancho Sahuarita Blvd. A woman told police she paid for her groceries and loaded them into her vehicle. She said she noticed her purse was missing after she got home. She told police someone fraudulently charged $13 on her Discover card at a business in Green Valley. She said she cancelled all of her credit cards.
2 Suspicious activity was reported at 4:13 p.m. Aug. 20 in the 17000 block of South Placita de Laton. A resident told police he found the side gate to his backyard open and several pieces of wood were missing from his fence. He said his wife told him the dog barked at 7 p.m. the previous night as if someone was outside the house. He told police he was concerned about a possible Peeping Tom. He said on his days off he has noticed a man driving a truck up and down his street. He told police he did not have the license plate number of the truck.
3 Arson was reported at 4:43 p.m. Aug. 20 in the desert behind Los Arboles Mobile Home Park, 17200 S. La Villita Road. Green Valley Fire District extinguished two brush fires. According to the report, the fires were started by transients. Several beer cans and a half-full liter of soda were found on the ground near the fires. Police searched the area but were unable to find anyone suspicious.
4 A disturbance was reported at 1:08 p.m. Aug. 19 at the SunBank branch inside Wal-Mart, 18680 S. Nogales Highway. The branch manager told police a man demanded $100 from his bank account. She said his balance was $48. She told police he became verbally abusive and said he would come back at 1:30 p.m. for the money. Police talked to the man at his house and he admitted he behaved poorly. He said he would not return to the bank. An officer told him his license plate was suspended for not having insurance. He said his license plate belonged to another car and he had been meaning to take care of it. He was cited on suspicion of having a fictitious plate and released. Police confiscated the license plate.

5 A 1994 GMC truck was reported stolen at 9:56 a.m. Aug. 30 in the 500 block of North Salero View Road. The owner told deputies the truck was for sale. He said four men came to look at it two weeks ago. He said the men acted suspicious and were very nosy about an ATV in his backyard. He told deputies his wife said she thought she heard someone in the backyard at 10:30 p.m. the previous night.
6 Vandalism was reported at 11:24 a.m. Aug. 29 at a Vail Water Co. facility in the 13900 block of East Via Rancho del Lago. An employee said someone spray painted gray and black graffiti on several electrical panels and water tanks and the walls surrounding the tanks.
7 Theft was reported at 2:27 p.m. Aug. 27 in the 14000 block of East Placita Racimo Bello. A resident told deputies someone took a lighter, a fire extinguisher and a garage door opener from her vehicle. She said she left the vehicle unlocked.
8 Fraud was reported at 4:29 p.m. Aug. 23 in the 300 block of South Blue River Loop. A resident told deputies the following: She stopped on the way home to purchase several items but her Chase check card did not work. She called the bank and an employee told her she had exceeded her daily limit. She told the bank employee she had not made any purchases. Someone fraudulently charged $2,000 in purchases using her check card number. She turned the card in at the bank and was issued a temporary card.
