"This is the third year the club has given packets to students at Drexel, the fourth year for Ochoa and fifth year to Miller," said Debbie Haddock, Kino Rotary Club resource chair.
The 16-member club started the Kindergarten Literacy Project five years ago.

Water harvesting improves park
The Highland Vista Neighborhood Association, with partners Pima County and the city of Tucson, celebrated the completion of a park and water-harvesting project on Aug. 23.
"This project is the first water-harvesting project of its type funded through Pima County's Neighborhood Reinvestment program," Andrea Altamirano, special staff assistant for Pima County, said in a press release.
A section of Highland Vista Park north of the Arcadia Wash — northwest of East Broadway and Craycroft Road — used to collect water, and that attracted insects. Through the use of water-harvesting techniques, the area is now an educational garden with native Sonoran Desert vegetation.
The project was funded with $75,000 from Pima County's Neighborhood Reinvestment Program. The city of Tucson's Ward 6 Back to Basics program contributed $100,000, and $60,000 came from Tucson Parks and Recreation bond funds.
