MARANA
1 A 1997 GMC Sierra truck valued at $5,700 was reported stolen at 8:24 p.m. Sept. 27 at Cantera apartments, 3500 W. Orange Grove Road. The owner told police he saw his truck five minutes before it was stolen. The man's daughter told police she saw a teenage boy pull up near the truck in a silver sedan. She said another person got into the truck and both vehicles drove away.
2 Theft from a vehicle was reported at 2:05 p.m. Sept. 24 at Wal-Mart, 8280 N. Cortaro Road. The owner told police someone took his laptop computer, his overnight bag and a Navajo County Sheriff's Department badge from his vehicle. He told police the laptop computer was valued at $900. He said the bag contained clothing valued at $150, several prescription pain patches valued at $900, a prescription bottle containing 60 or 70 Oxycodone tablets valued at $160, a cell phone charger valued at $20 and miscellaneous toiletries valued at $20.
3 Vandalism was reported at 3:09 a.m. Sept. 22 near West Tangerine Road and North Camino de Manana. A police officer discovered someone ran over a stop sign. The officer searched the area and found several more damaged traffic signs.
PIMA COUNTY
4 Theft was reported at 7:20 a.m. Sept. 22 in the 2300 block of West Dante Way. A resident told deputies the following: Her 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe was missing from her garage after she returned from the gym at 7:10 a.m. She found her husband's keys in the driveway. A security stick had been removed from a kitchen window. A wallet, cell phone, digital camera, safe, a television set and two DVD players were taken from inside the house. During her call to 911, someone parked her truck in front of her house and left the engine running. Inside the vehicle, deputies found a crumpled receipt, a cigarette wrapper and a sports drink that did not belong to the owner.
5 A purse snatching was reported at 7:43 a.m. Sept. 21 at Quail Run Elementary School, 4600 W. Cortaro Farms Road. The owner told deputies a man took her purse from the front seat of her vehicle when she dropped off one of her sons. The woman's other son was sitting in the back seat. The boy told deputies he thought the man made a mistake and opened the wrong vehicle door. The woman said her purse contained 50 credit cards, a debit card, her driver's license and other miscellaneous items.
ORO VALLEY
6 Burglary was reported at 8:45 p.m. Oct. 2 in the 11400 block of North Copper Spring Trail. A resident told police someone kicked in the front door and ransacked several rooms. She was unable to tell police if anything had been stolen.
7 Found property was reported at 11:06 a.m. Oct. 1 near a neighborhood park near North Verch Way and North La Tanya Drive. A landscape worker told police he found a trash bag containing stretch wrap that smelled like marijuana. Police found several empty soft drink bottles, an empty container of air freshener and two empty spools of stretch wrap near the trash bag. A small amount of marijuana was found inside the trash bag. According to the report, the stretch wrap and the air freshener were used to wrap large amounts of marijuana. A neighborhood resident told police he saw several vehicles at the park at night and said he would call 911 if it happens in the future.
8 A 2003 Dodge Ram truck was reported stolen at 6:28 a.m. Sept. 29 at Saddle Ridge Apartments, 450 W. Cool Drive. Another apartment resident reported her 2007 Toyota Corolla stolen at 6:41 a.m. Both owners told deputies their vehicles had been locked.
