It was a fairly typical Salvation Army Christmas dinner at the Tucson Convention Center on Dec. 25, 1993. There were turkey, trimmings, beverages and dessert. And oh yes, and there was actress Sharon Stone, among the 300 volunteers. Stone, who was here shooting a movie, served coffee and punch, and chatted with the guests as she moved around the tables. Valerie Salcedo was refusing to eat her turkey dinner, so Stone sat down and tried to persuade her to give it a try.
