Dr. Andrew Weil, author and pioneer in integrative medicine, will give a free talk on Thursday about the future of health care in the United States.
The event is part of the Well U Provost Lecture Series and will start at noon in the Gallagher Theater, in the Student Union Memorial Center on the University of Arizona campus.
Weil is the founder and director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at the UA Health Sciences Center.
"Many common diseases could be avoided if we were better able to address the lifestyle factors that underlie them," Weil said in a press release. "The future of medicine is integrative."
According to Weil, the future of American health care must include educating professionals and providing the public with access to information on integrative therapies.
