MARANA
1 Larceny was reported at 3:56 a.m. Nov. 2 at The Springs at Silver Bell apartments, 7759 N. Silverbell Road. A woman told police someone took her digital camera valued at $350. She said she was at a Halloween party at a friend's apartment and placed the camera on a table for a few minutes. She said she looked for the camera but was unable to find it.
2A 19-year-old man was cited on suspicion of underage drinking and released at 7:09 a.m. Oct. 31 near West Shining Moon and North Silver Moon ways. A police officer found the man sleeping in his car and woke him up. According to the report, his speech was slurred and he had a hard time keeping his balance. Vomit was found on the ground near the car. An almost empty 750 ml bottle of vodka was found inside the car. The man's mother and stepfather gave him a ride home.
3Found property was reported at 3:25 p.m. Oct. 29 at Marana High School, 12000 W. Emigh Road. An employee told police a teacher was given a plastic bag containing marijuana. She said a student found it while cleaning up the common area and turned it over to the teacher. She told police the teacher saw several students in the area but could not determine who brought the drug to school. Police took the bag of marijuana.
PIMA COUNTY
4Burglary was reported at 9:37 a.m. Oct. 31 in the 5400 block of North Shannon Road. A resident said the front door had been kicked in and he found two men wearing ski masks inside his house. He told deputies the men ran out the back door when he walked toward them. He said he did not think anything had been taken.
5Arson was reported at 10:03 a.m. Oct. 29 in the desert near West Sunset and North Silverbell roads. A stolen 1997 Nissan Altima was completely burned. Northwest Fire/Rescue District put out the blaze. Deputies found a blood-stained wipe, a putty knife and an alcohol packet on the ground near the car. A piece of fabric was stuffed into the gas funnel. Deputies contacted the owner and he said he reported the car stolen at 9:15 a.m. He told deputies a mop, mop wringer, several white towels, a utility light and a plastic box containing paperwork found 100 feet from the car had been in his trunk.
6Fraud was reported at 1:32 p.m. Oct. 29 in the 5600 block of West Oasis Road. A resident told deputies the following: He received a bill from Chase bank stating he owed more than $65,000 in combined credit card debt. He went to the bank and discovered six credit cards fraudulently opened in his name with high balances. He confronted his fiancée about the fraudulent credit cards because she had been in charge of their finances for seven years. She told him someone must have stolen his identity, then she moved out. He suspects his fiancée is responsible for the fraudulent activity.
ORO VALLEY
7A vehicle break-in was reported at 11:09 a.m. Nov. 5 at the Linda Vista trailhead in the 9500 block of North Oracle Road. The car owners told police someone shattered the rear passenger window of their car. A purse and a backpack were taken. The purse contained several credit cards, $60, several gift cards, identification cards and other miscellaneous items. The backpack contained a laptop computer, a passport and other items.
8An attempted vehicle theft was reported at 6:49 p.m. Nov. 2 at Catalina Crossing Apartments, 9095 N. Oracle Road. A resident told police the following: He was walking his dog and saw three men standing next to a Jeep. The driver's side door was opened. He knows the owner of the vehicle so he called 911. The men drove away in a white car. The owner was contacted and he told police papers found on the ground outside his Jeep had been in a binder on the front passenger seat. The steering column was damaged.
9A 41-year-old man was cited on suspicion of urinating in public and released at 8:02 a.m. Nov. 2 at Famous Footwear, 2040 E. Tangerine Road. A police officer saw the man get off his bicycle in a part of the parking lot being used as a staging area for unplanted mesquite trees. He walked up to a tree and began to urinate. He tried to pretend he was picking up trash from the tree planter when he saw the patrol car. His pant legs were wet and he was staggering and slurring his words. He told the police he did not see a portable toilet 20 yards away. He said he was just trying to get to work and had to urinate. The man's boss gave him a ride home.
10 Larceny was reported at 12:48 a.m. Nov. 1 in the 11300 block of North Seven Falls Drive. A resident told police someone took three lighted pumpkins from her front yard.
