A Pima County jail corrections officer arrested on computer tampering charges has been ordered to surrender his passport, according to documents released by Pima County Justice Court.
Sameer Ibrahim Qasem, 38, is facing 26 counts of computer tampering. Court documents show that he was born in Kuwait and is a U.S. citizen.
Qasem and another corrections officer, Anthony Doty, 22, were arrested Thursday, accused of accessing a Pima County sheriff's database for purposes outside their official responsibilities, the Attorney General's Office said.
Qasem's brother, Jameel Qasem, 36, was also arrested during the investigation.
The primary investigation was conducted by the FBI.
