The Mount Lemmon Artisans Art and Craft Fair held its last show of the year Sunday in Summerhaven's cool mountain air.
The fair had everything from wood carvings to watercolors, said Cathie Logan, part of the artisans group.
An estimated 500 people roamed through the new Mount Lemmon Community Center. Live music echoed outdoors, while the Mount Lemmon Fire Department grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. The free event draws a lot of people who want to get out, Logan said.
"We always have a lot of tourists come up the mountain," she said. "It's a beautiful drive now that they've redone the road."
But once they're up, they appreciate how many different crafts there are.
"To me, it's the diversity, it isn't just a lot of jewelry," Logan said.
One vendor was Lynn Ribiat, who makes handmade Christmas wreaths, table centerpieces and door charmers.
"I like people to be unique," said Ribiat, who started this line of work three years ago. "Each year I get better at it!"
This is the last fair of the year, but the artisans' group will be holding more next summer, Logan said, thanks to all of the volunteer help they're getting.
"We're getting a really good community spirit up here," she said.
