The son of a woman reported missing was arrested after investigators found a body buried in a shallow grave behind the man's house southwest of Tucson, a sheriff's official said.
Jacob Isaac Bynog, 32, was booked into the Pima County jail and faces a charge of first-degree murder, said Deputy Dawn Hanke, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.
Deputies initially went to the home Saturday after a daughter reported her mother missing. Deputies were not able to find the woman and turned the case over to the homicide unit, she said.
On Monday, investigators returned to Bynog's house in the 8400 block of South Fillmore Road, near Ryan Airfield, Hanke said.
At about 3 p.m., they found the body of an adult woman in the shallow grave after noticing freshly dug dirt.
An autopsy is pending, and the body has not been positively identified, Hanke said.
Bynog lived with his mother, Hanke said.
