The fugitive: James Fred Morrett, 54.
When and where: Oct. 5, 2005, near Amado.
Investigators: U.S. Marshals Service
Summary: Morrett was driving a 1984 GMC dump truck that was pulling a trailer with a backhoe, Deputy U.S. Marshal Tom Twohey said.
Morrett came to the Border Patrol checkpoint on Interstate 19 near Amado, where a drug-sniffing dog signaled an alert on the bed of the truck, Twohey said.
Agents removed some of the dirt from the dump truck and found about 6 pounds of marijuana under a tarp.
Morrett was arrested but was released on bond, Twohey said.
On Nov. 13, he did not show up for a court appearance, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The latest information: Morrett had lived in Tucson for several years and had been living in trailer parks on and off for the last couple of years, Twohey said.
He is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes, Twohey said. He also has a scar on his forehead.
