A 44-year-old woman was seriously injured after a man doused her with a flammable liquid and set her afire Monday morning.
The woman was flown to Phoenix to be treated for burns to her face, hair, arms and chest, according to Sgt. Fabian Pacheco, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
The incident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of East Grant Road, near North Campbell Avenue.
The man has not been arrested, and police do not know the relationship between the two, Pacheco said. The man ran away.
The woman ran to a neighbor's house to get help. They put her in the shower to extinguish the fire, he said.
