The Tucson Women's Symphony Association and the Women's Symphony Society put on their second annual fashion show on Sept. 17, 1978. The symphony was celebrating its 50th year, and the fashion show had the theme of "Puttin' on the Ritz" and featured an art-deco motif. More than 300 people attended the show in the Territorial Room at Levy's. That night, Tucson Symphony President Earl Kai Chann declared the fashion show its most successful fundraising event, having raised $20,000 more than the previous year. Chann, standing, is joined by Levy's President Henry Quinto, left, Shirley Chann and the symphony Director George Trautwein.
