Some weekend closures are scheduled as part of the Fourth Avenue underpass reconstruction on the east end of Downtown.
East Congress Street is scheduled to close at Fifth Avenue from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday. Crews will work on wiring for a new traffic signal at the intersection. Westbound traffic will be routed to Toole Avenue during the work.
Congress Street will be reduced to one lane between Toole and Sixth avenues Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the closure, traffic will be alternating between the two westbound lanes, with only one open at a time.
Thornydale widening
As part of the North Thornydale Road widening project from West Orange Grove Road to the Cañada del Oro wash, crews will temporarily shut off water to some area business next week. Business owners are supposed to receive at least 24-hour notice about shut-offs, which are scheduled to begin Sunday night.
Access to Costco Drive and Horizon Hills Drive is scheduled to be restricted next week, but both intersections will not close at the same time.
Oracle widening
The left lanes in both directions of North Oracle Road are scheduled to close Sunday through Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. The closure is scheduled from East Tangerine Road to Ram's Field Pass.
The right-turn lane from northbound Oracle Road into Catalina State Park is scheduled to close from 9 a.m. Monday through Wednesday. The park remains open during the work, and flaggers will direct traffic into the entrance.
Tucson Boulevard restrictions
Underground utility work will affect traffic on northbound South Tucson Boulevard near East Valencia Road this week.
The work is scheduled to affect one northbound lane on Tucson, north of Valencia from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday. During the work southbound turns from Tucson to eastbound Valencia will be prohibited.
I-10 widening: Picacho Peak to Pinal Air Park
Intermittent lane closures are scheduled on Picacho Peak Road at I-10 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Picacho Peak Road is scheduled to close at I-10 Thursday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The ramps will remain open at the intersection, but flaggers will direct traffic to the other side of the bridge.
I-10 widening: Pinal Air Park to Tangerine
The frontage road west of Interstate 10 remains closed between Moore and Postvale roads. It is scheduled to reopen at 4 p.m. Friday.
The frontage road on the east side of the interstate will be reduced to one lane at Milepost 238 Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Flaggers will direct traffic through the area.
