Tucson's stats for June 2008:
• Average June temperature: 87 degrees, the sixth-warmest June on record (local weather records have been kept since 1895) and 2.9 degrees above the normal for the past 30 years.
• Average 2008 temperature: 66.1 degrees, one degree above the 30-year norm and the 22nd-warmest first six months on record. The temperature has topped 100 degrees 24 times this year, three times more than normal.
• June rainfall: 0.16 inch, compared to a normal 0.24 inch for the month, still enough to make it the 47th-wettest June on record.
• 2008 rainfall: 1.99 inches, or 1.45 inches below normal and the 35th- driest first six months on record.
