What would a summer basketball camp be without some former stars returning to encourage and teach the young players? On June 29, 1978, the campers attending Fred Snowden's basketball camp at McKale Center were getting tips from two former University of Arizona Wildcats, Al Fleming, left, and Len Gordy. Both players had been part of the 1976 Wildcat team that came within one game of the NCAA Final Four. Gordy was then an assistant coach for Snowden, the UA's men's basketball coach, and Fleming had just ended the 1977-78 season with the Seattle Supersonics. Read more about Fleming in Tales From the Morgue at go.azstarnet.com/morguetales.
