MARANA
1 Vandalism was reported at 6:43 p.m. May 13 at InTown Suites, 4314 W. Ina Road. A guest told police someone smashed out the driver's-side window of her truck. According to the report, nothing appeared to be missing.
2 Theft was reported at 9:42 a.m. May 12 from a construction site in the 12100 block of North Thornydale Road. A superintendent for Summit Builders Construction Co. told police someone entered a locked metal fence surrounding two transformers. He said the copper plates in both were taken.
3 Theft was reported at 5:46 p.m. May 12 in the 7100 block of West Rivulet Drive. A resident told police someone came in through a broken window in a vacant bedroom on May 1. She said three bottles of prescription medication, her son's wallet, a credit card, a debit card, a cable box, $80 and her purse were taken. She told police she didn't report the theft right away because she has been in the hospital.
4 Two stolen jet skis were recovered at 3:32 p.m. May 12 at Bashas', 12100 N. Dove Mountain Blvd. A man told police the following: He was driving down North Dove Mountain Boulevard and recognized two jet skis on a flatbed trailer towed by a truck. He thought the skis were the same ones stolen from him two years ago and followed the truck driver into the parking lot. He found stickers his children had placed on the skis when the driver went inside the grocery store. Police talked to the truck owner when he came out of the store. He said he bought the jet skis two years ago in Tucson for $490 and did not know they were stolen. The jet skis were returned to the owner. The incident is under investigation.
PIMA COUNTY
5 A 1998 Dodge Caravan was reported stolen at 3:14 a.m. May 9 in the 1200 block of West Wheatridge Drive. The owner told deputies her van was stolen from her driveway during the night.
6 Vandalism was reported at 3:38 p.m. May 8 in the 2700 block of West Calle San Manuel. A real estate agent told deputies the following: She received a call from a prospective buyer about water running down the driveway. She found the entire floor of the house covered with water. Someone had opened both water valves in the laundry room and turned off the power to the house.
7 A vehicle fire was reported at 3:23 a.m. May 8 in a wash near the 5800 block of North Belbrook Drive. A deputy found a Pontiac van engulfed in flames. The fire was put out. Deputies were unable to find a vehicle-identification number. The van was towed.
8 A man was cited on suspicion of driving under the influence at 2:15 a.m. May 8 and released on West Ina Road near North Shama Wing Road after a traffic stop. A deputy noticed the man had red eyes and slurred speech. According to the report, the inside of the man's truck smelled like alcohol. At first the driver said he did not have anything to drink. He told deputies he should be given a break because his brother is a deputy. He eventually admitted he had six or seven beers and a shot of hard liquor at a nearby bar. Deputies gave the man a ride home.
ORO VALLEY
9 Two stolen motorcycles were recovered at 12:37 a.m. May 17 at Catalina Crossing Apartments, 9095 N. Oracle Road. The 2002 Honda and the 2005 Suzuki were found in the parking lot in good shape. Both motorcycles were reported stolen in Tucson. The Suzuki motorcycle was returned to the owner. Police were unable to contact the owner of the second motorcycle. It was taken away for safekeeping.
10 Two students were cited on suspicion of disorderly conduct at 3:39 p.m. May 16 at Ironwood Ridge High School, 2475 W. Naranja Drive. Several students, teachers and school administrators saw the girls rolling around on the ground and pulling each other's hair. They were released to their parents.
11 A 46-year-old woman was cited on suspicion of having an open container in a vehicle at 8:07 p.m. May 12. She was released on North Oracle Road near East Pusch View Lane after a traffic stop. The police officer noticed an open can of beer in the center console and asked the driver if he had been drinking. He said no and explained that he was driving the woman home. The woman said the beer was hers. She told police she was drunk and knew it was illegal to have an open can of beer in the vehicle.
12 Larceny was reported at 8:21 a.m. May 11 in the 11400 block of North Palmetto Dunes Avenue. A resident told police someone took a digital camera and a cigar case containing two cigars from her vehicle. She said the unlocked vehicle was parked in her driveway.
