OK, so the rattlesnake tasted like chicken and the chocolate- covered crickets were crunchy, but when it came to eating live earthworms, no description was required. Several willing students gave that delicacy a try. On May 12, 1983, the Flowing Wells High School ethnobiology class held a taste test and invited other students and guests to share their bounty. It was the 13th annual feast and the major project of the class. Among the other temptations were cottontail tacos, agave hearts, boiled tumbleweed, candied bees and ants in a sheet cake.
