A community group set up to discuss issues surrounding Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and its impact on Tucson is scheduled to meet tonight.
The committee, composed of D-M officials, local leaders, members of neighborhood groups and business owners, is scheduled to elect new leadership, including the chair and vice chair.
The group, known as the Military Community Relations Committee, was established in the fall and is designed to tackle a wide range of issues, including noise complaints and safety concerns associated with the base's operations, according to a D-M news release.
The committee was formed on recommendations from a previous group, the Military Community Compatibility Committee, which recommended two dozen changes to base operations and regional policies to help D-M become a better neighbor.
The group is scheduled to meet from 6 to 8:30 tonight in the Copper Room at Randolph Municipal Golf Course, 600 S. Alvernon Way.
