![]() A large urn containing prayers and wishes for loved ones is escorted by marchers on Fourth Avenue to mark the beginning of the All Souls Procession. Marchers in a wide array of costumes paraded through Downtown on Sunday in honor of the living and the dead. Artist Susan Kay Johnson gave the event its start in the 1990s with a ritualistic piece grieving the passing of her father. Inspired by Mexico's Day of the Dead, Johnson sought to honor her father in celebration and creativity, according to the event organizers. Photos by greg bryan / arizona daily star
