Congress slow on renewable energy
Re: the Tuesday op-ed column "Bush energy policy lacks political courage" by Thomas L. Friedman.
That the Renewable Energy and Job Creation Act of 2008 has not been passed by Congress is unacceptable.
Extending tax credits on installing solar and other renewable-energy sources is crucial for the environment and for the economy, especially here in Arizona where we have the potential for a booming solar industry.
That John McCain, an Arizonan, opposes the Renewable Energy Act is unbelievable.
For those opposed to federal subsidies for energy, remember that both nuclear and coal (the dirtiest) receive much more in subsidies than all combined alternative energies.
