Blues acts gearing up for rally

Tucson, Arizona | Published: 05.03.2007
The Southern Arizona Blues Heritage Foundation didn't hesitate when asked to help with this weekend's big Harley-Davidson rally.
"America's motorcycle, America's music," said Ginny Migliazza, a board member whose son is local blues pianist Arthur Migliazza.
Foundation members have scheduled several acts that participated in its inaugural Tucson Blues Challenge held at Club Congress last September.
Performers include the hard-driving 56 Deluxe, led by longtime guitarist Kenny "Tsak" Tsakanikas, and the electrifying blues ensemble Johnny Faber and the Road Kings.
"A lot of them have been around for a while, but they are not working bands," Ginny Migliazza said. "They are not bands that people recognize like Tony and the Torpedoes and George Howard. We are excited to give them a chance to play out and have people see them."
The Jack Daniels Blues Stage will be located in the heart of vendor village. Admission is free.
