A 28-year-old man died Saturday evening after a quad accident, an official said Monday.
Troy Michael Power was riding on Redington Road near milepost 14 when he lost control of the quad, said Deputy Dawn Barkman, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman.
He struck a hill face and the quad went over the hill but Power did not, she said.
Power was able to make his way back to a camp site where his friends were but collapsed, Barkman said. Someone called 911 but by the time paramedics arrived, Power was dead.
It is not clear if he was wearing a helmet.
No further information was immediately available.
