A man hopped over a fence and attempted to abduct a fourth-grade student at a Pinal County elementary school Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
The man tried to abduct the Red Rock Elementary School student at about 1:30 p.m. when he jumped over a construction fence, held an object to the girl’s neck and told her he knew where she lived, said Vanessa White, a spokeswoman for the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.
The man threatened to come back and abduct the girl after school, she said.
Afterwards, he jumped over the fence and drove away in a red convertible sports car, she said.
He is described as having a medium build, is between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9 inches and weighs about 160-200 pounds, she said.
The man has straight, black shoulder length hair, a black goatee mustache and a black medium style hoop earring through his left ear, she said.
He was last seen wearing a dark blue t-shirt with black baggy, denim jeans, she said.
