PHOENIX — Maricopa County prosecutors have filed a criminal complaint against a Mesa mother who allegedly left her child home alone while she went off to a local casino.
The Maricopa County Attorney's Office filed a criminal complaint alleging one count of Child Abuse, a class 4 felony and domestic violence offense against 33-year-old Ada Schwartzmann.
Mesa police spokeswoman Diana Tapia said Monday that a close relative who lives next door awoke around 5 a.m. Saturday and noticed Schwartzmann's vehicle was gone.
Fearing the car had been stolen, his wife went into Schwartzmann's unlocked home and found the 10-month-old daughter crying in a rocking swing with a wet diaper.
Schwartzmann was arrested on a child abuse charge when she returned home.
