A woman who was killed in a collision after she swerved into oncoming traffic Wednesday may have been experiencing a seizure at the time, police said Thursday.
Selena M. Mena, 21, was heading west on Grant Road in a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt around 2:30 p.m. when her car collided with an eastbound 1998 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer near North First Avenue, according to a Tucson Police Department news release.
Mena was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at University Medical Center, according to Sgt. Fabian Pacheco, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
The driver of the Blazer — a 41-year-old woman — sustained serious injuries but is in stable condition, Pacheco said. She was wearing her seat belt.
No citations are anticipated.
