A Tucson man accused of robbing two convenience store clerks — kidnapping and raping one of them —was convicted Monday of all 14 charges he faced.
Dennis Ashton Crawford, 29, will be sentenced Sept. 18 by Pima County Superior Court Judge Hector Campoy. He could spend the rest of his life in prison.
Deputy Pima County Attorney Kristen Kelly told jurors Crawford robbed Dawn Foster twice within four days while she worked at C&T Oil, 2710 N. First Ave., last April
Two hours after Crawford left Foster's store the second time, Kelly said he robbed a clerk at the Circle K at North First Avenue and East Glenn Street. He then forced her to accompany him to a house in the 500 block of East Kelso Street and raped her.
The woman was released and called 911 after flagging down a taxi driver.
Both victims testified at the trial and Kelly presented DNA evidence that implicated him in the attacks.
