The Pima County Sheriff’s Department say an elderly man’s death after a fight last month at acare home was a homicide.
Sheriff’s detectives say 88-year-old Orval Leland Lindell was involved in a physical fight with his roommate at the Desert Life Rehabilitation and Care Center, 1919 W. Medical St., on June 12.
During the fight, Lindell fell, authorities say, and began complaining of pain to his neck and head.
He spent the next nine days at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital but when his condition continued to deteriorate he was transferred to a local hospice. He died June 24.
The Pima County Medical Examiner today ruled the death was a homicide.
