Arizona Daily Star
Tucson, Arizona | Published: 07.15.2008
A flash-flood warning for south central Santa Cruz County, which includes the city of Nogales, has been issued by the National Weather Service.
That means the already-damaged Nogales wash is in danger.
Heavy rain storms dropped 1-2.5 inches of rain in about 30-45 minutes around 4 p.m., about 5-10 miles south of the international border in the Nogales wash basin, said Craig Shoemaker of the National Weather Service.
The water level in the cement wash has risen about to about one foot high so far, Shoemaker said. .The flash food warning is in effect until 7 p.m.
