It's official — The National Weather Service recorded a temperature of 100 degrees at Tucson International Airport, shortly before 1 p.m. today.
It will probably be a degree or two hotter by day's end, said meteorologist Jeff Davis, and hotter tomorrow, with a high currently predicted at 103 degrees.
Wednesday will be windy and slightly cooler as a storm system drops down from the north, Davis said, bringing high temperatures down to the mid-80s by Friday.
Davis said don't expect the high temperatures to stay away for long.
You know the drill. Tucson averages 49 days at 100 or above each year, two days in May, 16 in June, 16 in July, 10 in August and five in September.
