Pima College freshman Jeremiah Korn won the national title in the shot put Friday morning at the national junior college track and field championships at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas.
Korn, a Sahuaro High School graduate, threw a personal best of 16.10 meters during the final flight. He was in fourth place before the final throw of the four rounds. He was ranked second in the event heading into the championships.
Pima sent 20 athletes to the national championships, which continue through Saturday.
