Call them the critters of spring.
They are the wild animals that are hatched or born into our desert world in the balmy, welcoming months between the hard chill of winter and the withering heat of summer.
Bobcats, coyotes, Harris’s hawks, hummingbirds, rabbits and many other animals bring forth their young in the mild days of spring. Learning a bit about life in nature’s nursery can be another way to celebrate the season.
On Sunday — with the help of wildlife specialists from the Arizona Game and Fish Department and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum — we offer a look at some recent arrivals in the wild.
