10 employees arrested at Panda Express on ID theft charges

Arizona Daily Star
Tucson, Arizona | Published: 03.18.2008
Six men and four women were arrested Tuesday at a Panda Express restaurant on the North Side in connection with an identity theft investigation.
All 10 were booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of aggravated taking identity of another person with the intent to obtain employment, according to a news release from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The arrests are the result of a three month investigation, the release said. A search warrant was served at the restaurant — 2485 N. Swan Road, Suite 101 — with the intent of gaining information and evidence of ID theft being committed by several employees.
The DPS stated all 10 were employees. A restaurant manager who did not identify himself stated that only some of those arrested were employees. He would not elaborate because he was advised by law enforcement not to discuss the case.
The names of those arrested were not released because of problems that arose while trying to verify identities, the news release said.
No further information was available.
